Our final day in Positano was absolutely amazing. We left the port of Positano at 9:30 on a 4 hour boat tour of the Amalfi Coast. The views were incredible & we got to stop and jump into the sea for a swim in the bright blue waters in and around the coves. S/O to Francesco for popping open the Valdobbiadene prosecco and the lovely family from California we shared the boat with for making it such an enjoyable experience
We grabbed a quick lunch on the port in Ristorante Chez Black, which was a little touristy, but the food was delicious nonetheless. I had a penne in a tomato and aubergine sauce, topped with mozzarella & basil. Bekki had a Neapolitan lasagne, a creamier version of traditional lasagne with layers ricotta cheese.
In the evening we planned to go to a well renowned little trattoria further up the hills in Montepertuso, but had yet another navigational mishap. We ended up at ristorante ‘Bruno’ instead, a little place known for fresh pasta & seafood with an extensive wine list and incredible views over Positano. I’d been waiting to try a mixed seafood pasta so went for a fresh scialatelle ai frutti di mare. Scialatelle is like short, thick fettuccine ribbons. The sauce was beautiful, just the shellfish cooked with olive oil, fresh cherry tomatoes and parsley. Bekki had linguine with courgette ribbons, pecorino and steamed clams. Both were amazing 😍 We stayed for some homemade desserts – a lemon variation of tiramisu and chocolate profiteroles, before heading to a bar for a lovely glass of rosè.
Wish we didn’t have to leave the Amalfi coast but excited to be in Mondragone waiting to have dinner with the Del Grosso & Mezzo family 😀
